Idli Karam Podi

When you wake up in the morning to the sounds of birds and soft sunlight, you begin to think how your day will unfold. You can hear your amma cooking in the kitchen to songs from the old radio and smell the steaming of idli’s in the cooker. You wonder think how many you’ll eat today. Reminiscing about how you never liked idli as a child and only a good podi would convince you to eat it, you wake up and walk to your kitchen to see the sight of your mom cooking.

She smiles at you and gestures to get the table prepared. You do so and call the rest of your family to have breakfast together.
